About Lake Fork Reservoir :

Quick Lake Fork Facts:

More than 65% of the Texas Top 50 largest bass, including the current state record, were caught from Lake Fork.
Lake Fork is located on the Lake Fork Creek that extends into Hopkins, Rains and Wood Counties, 5 miles northeast of Quitman, 45 miles north of Tyler, 80 miles east of Dallas.
Lake Fork was open to the public in late September 1980 and is 27,690 acres in size and the maximum depth is 70 feet.
Reservoir Controlling Authority is Sabine River Authority of Texas.
Lake Fork is loaded with natural and man made cover; standing timber, hydrilla, milfoil, lilly pads, and many native plants such as coontail and pondweed are also present.
Lake Fork does have access by numerous buoyed boat lanes, submerged timber represents a substantial hazard, so care should be exercised while boating in all areas.
Lake Fork Largemouth Bass are subject to a 16- to 24-inch slot limit. Bass 16 inches and shorter and 24 inches and longer can be harvested with a daily bag limit of 5 fish, of which only 1 fish can be 24 inches or greater.
